CLASSROOM RULES
In order to guarantee my kindergarten students the effective learning climate they deserve, I will utilize the following discipline plan.
The school wide rules are: Respect others, Encourage good decisions, and Solve problems.
There are six basic rules of behavior that students will learn in class. They are: (1) Listen carefully – follow directions the first time given, (2) Do your best, (3) Work quietly, (4) Raise your hand and wait to be called upon before speaking, (5) Share – treat others with courtesy and respect, and (6) Put your things away neatly.
As positive reinforcement for following these rules, the children will receive verbal praise plus some class wide reinforcements. In addition, students who follow the rules may earn individual rewards such as stickers or Pride Paws.
If a student causes a severe problem, he/she will be sent to the principal. This includes willfully hurting another child, willfully destroying property, overtly refusing to do what a teacher asks, and engaging in behavior that stops me from teaching or students from learning. Along with learning the rules, your child will spend the first few days of school learning the routines for various classroom activities. Please let me know if your have any questions or comments. Thank you for your support.
